Lets Just Keep It Up Shall We

In winter months I'm known to sing
I wax poetic in the spring
As summer bears down on me
Along with sand and foaming sea
Dread descends at all the heat
And the suns unceasing beat
Upon my eyes my skin my life
Though I am a surfers wife
Every day I long for rain
But they say creativity is sparked by pain
So as a form of self expression
I poetize my heat depression
And learn things that I never heard
Like poetize is a real word
I work my way through this bad time
By turning life into a rhyme
And that is how I get past
The summer days until the last
When I smile and dance down the hall
Thank God Almighty it's finally fall.

I Thank You. And my children thank you for being there to listen to this instead of them.

The Week Before Christmas

Twas two days before Christmas
and all through the house
the air conditioner was running
while I did grouse

The flip flops were flapping
all snug on our feet
While we visualized ice storms
to help beat the heat

And Papa in his t shirt
and I in my tank
Came to agreement
That this temperature stank

When out on the lawn
So noisy and crass
We could hear a lawn mower
 Fighting back grass

Away to the window
I creep over to peek
Everything was green
On Christmas week

The children just sighed
Observing the weather
So much for wearing
That new Christmas sweater

But the lights they will twinkle
And we will be of cheer
Because we have the spirit
If not winter this year

And you'll hear us exclaim
With no snow in sight

Merry Christmas To All!
And To All A Good Night : )
