Well. This Week Could Have Sucked More I Guess

But Not Much.

Losing two favorite entertainers = Sucked
Twelve missing with the Marine helicopters crashing in Hawaii = Beyond Horrible

*Sigh*

I have to look to home. My family is happy and everyone seems to be in a good place.
I Tea Partied with my granddaughter all morning Wednesday and we sat on the big swing on the porch and sang songs while it rained and had a lovely day.

My Littlest will be medically separated from the Marine Corps. with honorable conditions in twelve days. Though I'm very proud of her, I have to say a part of me is hugely relieved. The worry is all consuming every day. She won't be coming home though. She is in love. And he won't be discharged till next fall so she's staying where she is for now. We met him. We think he's wonderful. And now we will worry about him until he is out...so not completely free. As for Lit, I would like to claim the Marine Corps broke her but she is one of my kids so it's more likely she broke the Marines. And they said, we are sooo sorry. You go ahead and just go home and here is some disability money to live on and you can go to college too. Longest two years of my life. Now it feels weird that it's over.

Also, our Middlest has a special guy in the army who has been serving overseas for two years and they have reunited permanently since he will be discharged this summer. So we have to worry about him till then too.

Cause that's what we do. Worry.

And will next week suck as well? That remains to be seen. It will go something like this;

My Dermatologist: What do you mean you knew they were skin cancer but you had other things you were more worried about?

Me: Ehhhh....

MY King is Dead

I'm so sad I'm not even posting a video. However, I'm very glad I stayed up till the wee hours Friday-Saturday watching a VH1Bowie marathon of some sort. It was worth feeling like zombie fodder the next day. It ended with the 1973 Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars documenatary. When I was a child, I fell asleep on the couch and woke up late at night to a still running TV. On it was a strange and wonderful creature making fascinating music. That is where it began and it has lasted my whole life, through all the "changes".
 I've never had a "favorite" Bowie. There was only THE Bowie. And that is where it ends.

And one more thing.
How I would like to reflect on this: Blackstar (using a great deal of scientific license)

Singular. Yes. Infinite. I hope so.
